Synapse
v5.1A proprietary intelligence built for lab intake.
Synapse is DocKnow’s domain-specific intelligence layer that augments AI-generated results with laboratory knowledge, contextual understanding, and programmatic logic. It bridges the gap between extracting information and making that information accurate, actionable, and ready for real-world laboratory workflows.

Talk to our team 01 What is Synapse?
Overview
Synapse is the laboratory intelligence behind DocKnow. It applies a sophisticated framework of explicit rules, domain relationships, and contextual logic to ensure results satisfy real-world operational requirements.
Writing a rule to check whether a field is populated is easy. Building a system that knows when that field is required, how it relates to other information, and which exceptions apply is much more difficult. This is one of the fundamental challenges of relying on LLMs at scale, because their probabilistic nature makes them less predictable.
02 Can Synapse be customized for our laboratory?
Customization
Yes. Synapse is designed to support lab-specific requirements rather than impose a single interpretation of how every laboratory should operate.
Organizations can define business rules, validation criteria, and processing requirements that reflect their own test menus, documentation standards, and operational workflows.
That flexibility is particularly important for molecular diagnostics laboratories, where requirements can vary considerably between assays and testing programs.
03 Does Synapse have access to our sensitive laboratory data?
Security
Synapse follows the same No-Data Architecture as the rest of DocKnow.
DocKnow is deployed inside your organization’s infrastructure, where your data remains under your control. Onymos sees no data and saves no data.
This allows organizations to apply domain-specific intelligence to sensitive documents and records without exposing that information to Onymos.
