Vanta Diagnostics entered 2026 with a new name and an expanded vision for its role as a national diagnostics platform. By July, it had dramatically expanded its capabilities by acquiring Genomind’s genetic testing operations and growing its footprint to four CAP- and CLIA-certified laboratories serving 45 states.

That growth also created an operational challenge. Multiple test lines meant multiple complex requisitions, each with distinct requirements and dozens of handwritten fields to interpret across multiple pages.

And the faster Vanta expanded its testing capabilities and sample volume, the more important it became for its intake infrastructure to keep pace.

Requirements: Improve More Than Processing Speed

What began as a conversation with Onymos about “speeding up accessioning” became a vision for a true next-gen intake system.

“We saw an opportunity to improve far more than the speed of document processing,” says Mary Katherine DiFilippo, Director of Specimen Analytics at Vanta. “We recognized that by improving the quality of information and how our staff actually processes that information, we could create a much bigger impact.”

“Our mission is to provide rapid results to patients using the most advanced diagnostics,” adds Dan Nodes, Vanta’s Chief Operating Officer. “Achieving that requires continuous innovation not only in the tests we perform, but in the operational systems that support them.”

Results: More Efficient Staff, More Accurate Data

Vanta rolled out Onymos DocKnow and measured its impact over the same quarter.

“Since introducing the new software to the accessioning team, we’ve seen remarkable improvements across the board,” DiFilippo says. “These monumental wins could not be possible without Onymos.”

Individually, each number tells a piece of the story. Together, they show an intake process that got faster, more accurate, and more scalable at the same time.

That transformation traces back to intelligent automation replacing manual work at the points where errors and delays used to creep in.

Requisition data that once required manual entry is now extracted and validated automatically, cutting TRF processing to under a minute per sample. And with cleaner data entering the system from the start, downstream errors dropped by 40%, freeing up staff to focus on higher-value tasks rather than chasing missing or incorrect information.

These results are another proof point for where Onymos sees the industry heading.

“Measurable ROI with AI, not AI for AI’s sake, will define the next generation of precision medicine,” says Shiva Nathan, Founder and CEO of Onymos. “In just one quarter, our work with Vanta Diagnostics showed that intelligent intake can not only help laboratories scale, but also unlock improvements in quality, compliance, and turnaround time that were once considered difficult to achieve all at once. Together, we are proving that intake can be a source of competitive advantage.”
