Capture

With DeviceFlow, you can capture and transit data between your devices, smartphones, laptops, and the cloud, no matter the provider — AWS, GCP, or Azure (or your own on-prem database). Our “no-data” architecture ensures that Onymos sees and saves no data, keeping everything within your infrastructure. This makes regulatory compliance easy and security airtight.

Get answers to some of the DeviceFlow questions we’re asked the most.

DeviceFlow is a unique platform for building IoT products and services because of its emphasis on full control and customization. Customers receive the UI as code, can license the actual functional source code, and deploy the service in their own cloud or on-prem environment. It’s suitable for any IoT or IoMT use case where precision, security, and adaptability are key.

Yes, flexibility and interoperability are a key part of DeviceFlow. It seamlessly integrates with AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-prem solutions — and its API standardizes sending and receiving data to each of them.

Onymos software is built using our award-winning “no-data” architecture. We don’t access, capture, or store customer data. Instead, all data remains securely within the customer’s own environment, whether that’s on-prem or the cloud.

Additionally, Onymos is certified SOC 2 and HIPAA compliant.

Data buffering on the device side refers to temporarily storing some (or all) data locally before sending it to the cloud. It can significantly lower costs by minimizing cloud writes. Instead of continuously sending data to the cloud as it’s generated, the device accumulates that data, processes it locally, and transmits it in batches. This is particularly useful when handling large volumes of data or when real-time updates are unnecessary.

Edge AI refers to deploying an AI model directly onto an IoT device.

Using Edge AI, devices can analyze data where it’s generated and make decisions instantly. For example, a medical monitor could detect and respond to critical issues, like an irregular heartbeat, without waiting on analysis from a remote server — or even when the device isn’t connected to the Internet.

DeviceFlow delivers enterprise-grade, pro-code customization without vendor lock-in. With access to the code, it is completely customizable. Restrictive traditional SaaS and low-code/no-code platforms provide drag-and-drop simplicity but struggle to meet complex, bespoke requirements.

DeviceFlow’s UI includes pre-built, configurable features and services to analyze data, push firmware updates, manage users, and control individual devices in real time.

A “high-IP” (intellectual property) platform offers full access to both the source code and UI, enabling deep customization and control over the infrastructure. Users can tailor the platform to fit their specific needs, retaining ownership and IP of the customized solutions. “Low-IP” low-code/no-code platforms offer limited customization, relying on pre-built, proprietary frameworks where users have little control over the underlying technology, which reduces the amount of IP they can build upon or retain.

Full control means faster FDA approvals.

When you’re in full control, approvals come faster. With DeviceFlow, the platform stays inside your infrastructure. That means smoother compliance, quicker validation, and no waiting on third-party updates.

DeviceFlow’s unique “no-data” architecture is why some of the world’s largest MedTech enterprises trust Onymos with their data — because Onymos never has their data in the first place. No interim servers, no “Onymos Cloud,” just you and your data in your system, where it belongs.
